The Lonestar Dwarf c= ar Club sponsored by Auto Rescue invaded 281 Speedway in Stephenville, Texas= this past Saturday with 27 cars, and it turned out to be a night Keller Texas driver Jim= Lewis II will not forget. Driving his No 86 Pro, Lewis II jumped out from his pole position and was never challenged as he won his first career feature with t= he LDCC and his first feature since 2004. The 2008 season has been somewhat of a do= wn time for the fulltime pilot and part-time racer. “Man you name it and= it has happened to me this year. From blowing clutches to crashing into James = III, my son, this win has really got the monkey off of my back”, Lewis II stated.

When the green flag flew for the 20 lap contest,= it was the No 86 Pro of Lewis II from the pole, followed by outside front row starter Joel Kennermer in his No 00 Pro/Lenderman pickup followed closely by Dan Noble in his No 23 Pro and Wayne Hearne in his No 29 Chasco Construction Pro. It only took Hearne a few laps to get around both Noble and then Kenne= rmer and give chase to Lewis II. Back in the pack there was quite a race for 5th through 10^th with Jason Bellows in the No 89 WR Starkey Mortgage sponsored Pro, Benny Tufts in his No 3D, Bert Booth driving “The Widow Maker II” No 90, Dominick Palanza wheeling his beautiful No 11, Donnie Reagan’s Torgenson No 44 and Dick Brooker in his familiar No 97 Pro. = With the track slicking over passing was at a premium for the balance of the rac= e.

Dan Noble’s bad luck continued on lap 10 a= s he was forced to retire after blowing a radiator hose. A quick caution for the spin of last weeks feature winner Sebie Davis, bunched the field up one last time and as Lewis II was cruising to the checkered flag, when 2^nd place Hearne spun in turn 2 handing the place position over to a charging G= ene Lenderman. Rounding out the Top 10 where, Reagan, Tufts, Bellows, Palanza, Brooker, Kenton Kinney, Booth and Davis. 11^th= through 20^th found rapidly improving rookie driver Terry Boyer i= n 11^th, Jason Walters, JW Woodson, James Lewis III, Donnie Duffer, Max Miller, Mart= in Hannah, Karen Graham, Bill Pickett and 1^st time LDCC driver Bobby Ahiefeld came home in 20^th. The balance of the field was Amanda Bell, Hearne, Sherrilyn Bell, Kennermer, Noble, Buddy Tufts and Richard Kin= ney. Heat races where won by Davis, Hearne and Palanza.
